Kwara College of Education Management Alleged of Fraud



Management staff of Kwara state college of Education, Ilorin have been alleged of involvement in fraud ranging several millions of naira in the college and failed to key into federal government directive on single treasury Accout (TSA).

In a two pages petition from  Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP)  signed by ..... said the Provost Ayinde Shehu Jawondo and the Bursar, Ishola Moses Abiodun, have been suppressing all petitions  written to investigate fraud at the college.

According to investigation, a recent petition written to some security agencies was surpressed without allowing such to see light of the day.

According to the petition by SERAP, investigation revealed that the Provost and Bursar were the two signatories to the college accounts and easily were able to divert such funds to private pockets, under the guise of taking due process.

While such single-handed cases of trace of fraud in the college was a recent incident that the account of the college model secondary school  was closed and diverted in individual accounts. From Unity bank to Sterling Bank with the concession of the Provost, Jawondo. As this was said to have generated heat in the college.

Also, it revealed that staff who are expected to go for training and research projects, only collect  such funds without going for such such trip or assignments and the money went into private pockets under Jawondo's administration .

While the invitation of the duo, Jawondo, Provost and Abiodun, Bursar to the security agents, the statement written by the two principal officers were at variance on maintaining a single treasury Accout as provost written that the college maintain one, while Busar coffess to over ten different accounts.

Also,the way that kick-back were been collected from TETFUND contractors were revealed.

While it was alleged  that those affected officers have huge properties and fats bank accounts dotted over Ilorin and kwara State.
