Former NIMC Boss Alleges of Fraud And Corruption
The immediate boss of National Identify Management Commission (NIMC) Engr Aliyu Aziz Abubakar have been alleged of involvement in fraud and attorocities ranging to several millions of naira .
Engr. Aliyu that was recently relived of his position on compulsory leave to his retirement by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to a petition by the ANTI-CORRUPTION CRUSADERS FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE signed by Alhaji Abdulkhali Muktar and Chief (Mrs) Roseline Ajayi respectively alleged the former NIMC boss of various degrees of fraud and corruption as the helmsman of the commission.
Amongst the allegations stated that "Such of his instances of his corrupt nature were several millions of dollars and pounds that he realised from the international registration from Nigeria citizens abroad that he collected ranges from forty dollars, fifty pounds and without any record to show,chart or traces in the commission financial ledgers. Moreso against the lay-down civil service rules and regulations and financial management.
Also that he sub-let the commission's properties in Kaduna state for use for several years and huge amount was paid in these regard, which Engr. Aziz Abubakar diverted to his private pocket,while some staffers of the commission were made to be stranded during this period. As he was former aide to El-Rufai when he was FCT minister. Pay back time.
While he, Engr. Aliyu Aziz Abubakar was alleged to have several properties dotted city of Abuja, worth several millions of naira and also other properties in overseas countries, with huge amounts in his First bank account in Abuja amongst several others.
And that since 2012 some computerised systems were bought to the commission, the administration of Engr. Aziz Abubakar has not bought any single system to the commission, while there were allocation for such purchase.
Saying " A look at the commission budgetry allocation yearly, witnessed provisions for purchase of computer systems which never see light of the day, all such funds were also diverted. Making efficiency a problem in the commission as road-side computer operators have taken-up the functions of the commission.
While it was noted that training and re-training of staff were been budgeted for periodically, which hardly or none happened. However, such funds for the training were mopped up by Aziz Abubakar, bragging up, that nothing will happen, and dares all.
