BAO Administration : A new dawn in Ekiti... As Fayemi eulogies - Ifelodun/Irepodun LG Boss
Abiodun Ayobami Oyebanji sworn in as the new Governor of Ekiti State. Oyebanji who succeeded Dr Kayode Fayemi, took his oath of office at exactly 12:53 pm on Sunday, 16th day of October 2022.
Earlier, 64-year-old Chief Monisade Christiana Afuye had been sworn in as the Deputy Governor of Ekiti state.
Oyebanji, 54, won the governorship election on 18th June on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, the same party with the incumbent Governor Fayemi then.
He had served as Secretary to the state government and Chief of Staff to the Governor.
Born on 21 December 1967, Oyebanji attended Awo Community High School ,Awo Ekiti before transferring to C.A.C Grammar School in Efon-Alaaye, Ekiti State, and then the Federal School of Art and Science in Ondo State and the Aramoko District Commercial Secondary School in Aramoko, Ekiti State (1979 to 1983).
In 1989, Oyebanji obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree in Political Science from the Ondo State University (now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti), and proceeded to the University of Ibadan, Oyo State in 1992 where he bagged his masters’ Degree (M.Sc) in Political Science.
Oyebanji is married to Prof. (Mrs) Oyebanji, who is an associate professor at the University of Ibadan.
The Presidential Candidate of the All Progressive Congress. Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu joined other dignitaries, including Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu ,his Plateau State counterpart, Simon Lalong and former Governor of Ekiti state Ayodele Fayose.
