Ondo Central Senate : Ifedayo Adedipe Waves Olive Leaves to Co-contestants... Appreciates party, delegates

As two ranking senators of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo state loss ticket in bid to return to the green chamber, olive leaves have been wave for development of the party.

They are Patrick Akinyelure, representing the Ondo Central Senatorial district and Nicholas Tofowomo representing the Ondo South Senatorial area of the state.

Akinyelure lost at the party primary, held in Akure, the state capital, to a Senior Advocate of Nigeria ,SAN, Ifedayo Adedipe.

Akinyelure polled 58 votes while the winner scored 82 votes and a former state chairman of the party, Clement Faboyede came third by scoring 57 votes.

Also, Senator Nicholas Tofowomo representing Ondo South scored 74 votes lost the ticket to the former deputy governor of the state, Agboola Ajayi polled 78

Tofowomo lost to the former deputy governor in the party’s primary held at Okitipupa council area of the state.

Basorun Ifedayo Adedipe SAN , winner of the Central Senatorial ticket appreciated God Almighty for granting the grace to see the day, and for bringing the party to a successful conclusion of the Primary election to choose a candidate for the Central Senatorial District. 

 

His words "I want to sincerely thank all our party leaders and delegates for counting me worthy of their votes, and for the very transparent and peaceful manner in which the election went. Once again, our party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has demonstrated its firm hold on the tenets of democracy and its seriousness to continue to represent the Central Senatorial District and eventually take over power in the State"

The legal luminary  appreciates  co-contestants in the race, the Distinguished Senator Ayo Akinyelure and Engr. Clement Faboyede, for the very mature campaign they ran and for being true party men.  

 Thanking them for their spirit of sportsmanship and faith in the great party. Saying they are all brothers and compatriots in the very big PDP family. 

Calling that while the primaries are over, the real work still lies ahead.

 therefore calling for the support of co-contestants in the onerous task ahead. 

He therefore enjoin the co-contestants and teeming party members and indeed the good people of Ondo Central Senatorial District, to please join hands  at driving the party (PDP)  to victory in the general elections. Saying "If we work together, we shall arrive our destination faster and in safety.
