#ENDSARS: DEJI OF AKURELAND SUES FOR CALM...Charges against wanting destruction of lives and properties

 





The Deji and Paramount Ruler of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, has frowned at unwarranted killing, maiming of innocent and destruction of properties in Akure Kingdom, which is a fallout of the end SARS protest that engulfed major cities and towns across the country.


The Monarch, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Adeyeye Michael appeal for calm and restrain from any further protest which might lead to any form of reprisal attacks by hoodlums who had hijacked the once peaceful protest in Akure, the capital city and other parts of the state.

Saying, "A restrain and suspension of protest will afford goverment and security agencies the opportunity to apprehend all the miscreants who took advantage of the situation to wreak havoc, destroying private and government buildings, property and looting of public and private establishments across the state.

Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade commends the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwrotimi Akeredolu for his proactive measure towards compensating those who lost their valuables to this crisis. The monarch who is in support of the government's effort to apprehend these criminals with a view to visit the full wrath of the law on them.

 However, Oba Aladetoyinbo appreciates the youths of Akure who came together notwithstanding their political differences to salvage the situation. Noting that it is an understatement to say that their fruitful efforts helped in restoring normalcy to the town. The Oba salutes their courage in this regards.

The Oba who is equally happy with the cleaning activities carried out in all major roads and streets in the capital city by the Youths. His Majesty sincerely appreciates the youths and all the Quarter Chiefs for their remarkable efforts.

Oba Aladetoyinbo, again appeal to the youths to be on the look out in order to flush out all the criminal elements from amongst the society. 

Urging the youths to always channel their genuine grievances to the appropriate quarters through democratic means. Adding that there is no iota of doubt that the voice of the youths have been heard loud and clear, calls that there is need to give peace a chance.
