ADAMAWA POLICE COMMAND DENY ARREST OF PROTESTER: DEMANDS OF #150'000 FOR BAIL
The Adamawa Police command has cleared air over a publication "EndSARS Protest: Adamawa police arrests protester, N150,000 demanded" by a media outfit.
The command in a release signed by thw Police Public Relations Officer ,PPRO Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje said as a matter of fact, on 20/10/2020 one Domnic Edmond a manager Chentuary Hotel , Jimeta ,Yola North was arrested and brought to police one Stephen Reuben 22years a resident of Bachure and reported against him a case of Criminal tresspass and Attempt to commit an offence to wit-theft,the case was investigated and charged to Chief Magistrate Court 2, Jimeta on FIR.
Unfortunately,the mother of the said Stephen Reuben (suspect),then approached one Yusuf Kawu a charge and bail crook ,resident of Demsawa to assist her and secure the bail of her Son,who made a demand of #50,000 from her to cause a wrongful gain to himself and tarnished the good image of the police.
The Command had since apprehended the crook and commences investigation into the matter .
While the Command advise members of the general public to be aware of fraudsters who parade themselves as" Charge and Bail" extorting money from members of the public.telling them lies and cooked-up stories to extort them of money.
The Commissioner of police Olugbenga Adeyanju,fdc, who commended Jurnalists for making such known to the Command, equally advise them to always verify their reports before making it to the public.
Adding that it is always necessary and good at cross-checking facts before publication to prevent distorted information in the glare of public domain.
