FOOTBALL ADMINISTRATOR ALLEGES ONDO FA...Make case for football development

 A Football Administrator and  licensed Agent, Olanrewaju Moyero has berated Ondo State Football Association (FA) and football administrators in the state as not ready to  encourage private football club owners in the state.

Moyero stated this  in Akure at the inaugural SWAN parley organised by the Ondo State Chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Ondo state chapter.

The Proprietor of Moyero FC said he took his club to participate in the maiden edition of the Bet9ja Football League in Ekiti to make a 'statement' to the FA in Ondo State and other stakeholders.

Moyero said the FA needed to start seeing other clubs in the state as contemporaries to Sunshine Stars FC and not only to promote the government-owned club at the expense of others club.

In his words, "Ondo FA see private football as their enemy, what we did was to send message to Ondo State Football Association that in as much as they are are not ready to encourage private clubs, there are others ready to accept us.

"Not until when we begin to develop the culture of allowing the underrated clubs to raise their head, football will not move both at the national level and the state.

"With all sense of apology I want to say, that Ondo state Football Association and football administrators in the state are not ready to encourage or accommodate private football owners in the state  .

"Let Ondo FA and football administrators know that talent did not reside in Sunshine  alone, that there are lots of talents in those clubs they ignored.

"In 2010, my team (Moyero FC) played final with Sunshine Stars ,then an allotment had to be  given to the private club and the government club, they paid sunshine,while we have to fight for more than one and half year , until I petitioned the Governor then they deemed it fit to pay me N4.5 million, while Sunshine team was paid #25million, while we are supposed to be paid same amount.

While am saying categorically that,they pay us 4.5million why we spent more than 3million naira on every FA cup we participated.

Moyero, who also spoke about player development, said untill football administrators started seeing development of players from the grassroots, football will not develop in the country.

 He also advised players not to make travelling to abroad their priority,adding that their career could be developed in the country with food agents announcing them to the world.

Reacting to the allegations, the Vice Chairman of Ondo State Football Association, Henry Akingboju said the FA has cordial relationship with all football clubs in the state.

His words, "Since he (Moyero FC)  has been registering his club in the state, have we not been supporting him? He has played FA cup final before and he has equally represented ondo state football association in the play off before now," he said.
